General Practice Attorney

Updated June 22, 2023

About This Position.

Our primary areas of practice are estate planning and estate administration.  However, the position we need to fill is not related to these areas. Specifically, we looking for any attorney to provide legal advice and services to members of a national legal insurance company.  We have a contract to provide services to its plan members in Michigan. This may involve a single phone call, or more extensive research and follow-up based on your judgment of the clients' needs. All services are provided remotely, so this job can be performed from any location.

The range of topics in which you may be asked questions is very broad. As a result, general practice experience and knowledge is highly desirable. Obviously, no one has experience in every area, so being able to quickly identify legal issues and search available resources is the key to success. The more services you are able to provide, the more you will be compensated for the time expended. You can expect to spend 10 to 15 hours per week in this position, but the hours can vary widely depending on call volume. There is no scheduled time to be "on call" as long as calls are returned within 4 business hours.  Litigation is not required, but you may negotiate settlements on behalf of clients.

We have been providing this service for about 25 years, so we will provide training and support to ensure your success. This position can be very challenging and rewarding since you will be able to help people with their every-day legal problems and receive immediate feedback from them.

If this position sounds like something you would be interested in, please submit your application, including cover letter and resume to mail@eplg.us. Attorney Michell Lupanoff currently provides this service for us, so please feel free to call her if you want to know more details before you apply. Michelle is staying with our firm (moving on to estate planning and probate practice) so she will be available for questions in the future.

Thank you for your interest.
